“Thank you” and “I’m sorry”
Jul 27th, 2006 by Accidental Thinker
Two pretty underutilized phrases in the English language, if you ask me. I wonder sometimes why it’s so hard to express gratitude to others or own up to our mistakes. It doesn’t have to be eloquent. A simple, heartfelt "thank you" or "I’m sorry" delivered with feeling can do so much to brighten someone’s day or mend fences.
So here’s your mission for today, should you choose to accept it: Say "thank you" or "I’m sorry" to someone who deserves it, and mean it.
What a fabulous idea, I will do just that.
One a side note, thank you for this positive message.
That is actually excellent advice. Sometimes I think to myself how I like someones shirt or maybe I think their hair looks good and that’s it. I think it, but don’t say it. I have been making an effort to not just think those things. I know how I feel good after hearing that. I need to do it more often!
A real good idea. It’s especially important for me to say those little words to My first Wife.
Thank you for a short but significant post.
will do – thanks for the reminder.
That’s a good lesson toward success – realizing the secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you’ve got it made.
‘ sorry, Monique! Have a great weekend. 😉
Monique ~ THANK-YOU for reminding me! But the truth I’M SORRY, but I just can’t do it! ~ jb///
Yeah..very true. Thank you for reminding us 🙂
I always try to say “thank you” but apologizing means admitting I’m wrong about something…
BTW, Thank you for stopping by, I’m sorry I don’t update very frequently.
I too am a great believer that little words are the ones which make the big differences :o)
Off to follow your advice!
Mission soon to be accomplished. I owe a “thank you” to a few folks who will be here later today.
I’m a few days late but I will accept the challenge.
Hi, Just popped over from FTS’ bloggers crossword. I totally agree – Thank you and sorry are totally underutilized in today’s society.
Wonderful message Monique! Thanks! And I’m sorry I have been so remiss in visiting your sight but I will try to do better. (I would have said the same thing even if your post hadn’t mentioned it…honestly!)
Will do
Thank you for the suggestion.
