Fake kisses
Jan 8th, 2006 by Accidental Thinker
My rascally son is such a little tease. His latest amusement is fake kissing. He butters me up with a snuggle and a real kiss or two, then pretends he’s coming in for another one, only to stop short and smooch nothing but air. He’s quite proud of himself for inventing this game, but of course, it’s only fun when it gets a reaction. If I feign indignation at the "fake" kiss, he positively cracks himself up laughing. Since this mother will not be deprived of her daily quota of kid kisses, I always respond with just the right degree of comic dismay. I’m usually rewarded with a couple of real kisses before he’s at it again. He entertained himself (and me) for a good half hour doing this last night. It sure beats bumping foreheads, his previous favorite way of expressing humorous affection. Ouch!
That wwascally wwascal !
Cute!
thanks for stopping by posted note! Love your blog so far, I am going to read some more.
How funny! 🙂
Now I get high fives. I miss the good old days. Cute story.
That is much better than bumping foreheads. It’s funny that kids always like it when we kind of get hurt or show that we are shocked over something. My kids used to crack up if I pretended to fall down or run into the wall, etc… But, of course, they wouldn’t have liked it if I was really hurt.
Enjoy all those kisses, even the air ones.
That is positively adorable!! My youngest son is 12 and he responds to “I love you” with “OK”. OKAY??? What’s up with that. I discovered that gifts of cookie dough can make him emotional enough to be verbally affectionate. I will admit, this mother is not below a little bribery from time to time!!
Ah kids.. you gotta love’m. 🙂
precious post. It brings back memories of when my were smaller. Thankfully, my youngest is still a cuddle bug and sees to a lot of kisses. :o)
I love when they go through that phase. LOL! Is he old enough to get the “Olive juice” trick? (you lip the words to him and he will think you are saying “I love you”)
