Life’s unexpected blessings

Dec 13th, 2007 by Accidental Thinker

A note I found on our bed, just now, carefully positioned to make sure we would spot it immediately. These are the sweet, sweet moments that make life worth living.

On second thought, maybe it’s just because they’re trying to secure a spot on Santa’s “nice” list. But in the spirit of the season, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. I have the bestest kids ever!

Just to provide a little contrast to make your children seem even shinier and more angelic, I offer the example set by my own child.

Two days ago, she came home from school with a picture she’d drawn of me. Her portraiture portrayed me with lime-green hair. When I asked why she’d colored my hair green, her answer was short and not-so-sweet: “Because they didn’t have a bald-colored crayon in the box.”

I should’ve known better than to ask.

Yep, there’s that “halo effect” executives are warned about at evaluation time. Albeit, that’s a sweet note from some sweet kids. ;0)

You’ve got great kids!! You are great parents! I got a similar note from my 3 kids long, long ago and I cherish it to this day.

Whatever the reason, it’s a note to cherish.

It’s possible that the time of year gave them a moment to pause and reflect or a tv special gave them the idea, it doesn’t matter, it was still from their little hearts.
